Juanita Mae Phipps (Smith) of Ripley, Oklahoma gained her wings on July 9, 2024, at the age of 79. She was born on July 23, 1944, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. She departed this life leaving a legacy of love and devout faith. She was beloved by all who knew her.
Juanita enjoyed the hard work and good rapport with her coworkers at the bakeries in Tru Discount Market and Reasor’s. Juanita then dedicated many years of service to Woodlawn Elementary School cafeteria, where her warmth and kindness touched the lives of many students and staff. A devout member of Cushing Baptist Church, her faith was a cornerstone to her life.
She married her love, Robert Phipps on October 26, 1959. They celebrated 54 years of marriage before he passed away in 2014. Her leisurely pursuits such as crocheting, gardening, cooking and birdwatching were a testament of her appreciation for life’s simple pleasures and her love for all of God’s creations.
She is preceded in death by her grandmother Ethel Scobey, parents Charles Smith and Frances Underwood, and her husband Robert Phipps of the U.S. Navy.
She is survived by her brother Tony Smith, her children Vicki Oswald and husband Vaughn, Bruce Phipps and wife Lisa, and daughter Sandra Phipps and fiancé Travis Rogers, grandchildren Andrew and Kyle Oswald, Daniel Phipps and Amber Pickens.
