Obituary of Frances Elizabeth Yardley
Frances Elizabeth (Hardy) Yardley, 85, of Mounds, Oklahoma, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, July 26th, 2024, surrounded by her family and loved ones in her home.
Frances was born on February 5, 1939, in Jourdanton, Texas to Eddie and Maude Hardy. She was the 8th of 9 children, and she was the only girl. Needless to say, she had lots of protectors looking out for her. She grew up in San Antonio, Texas, where she attended Harlandale high school.
When Frances was a young girl, her mother came to know Jesus at the Church of God of Prophecy in San Antonio. After that, Frances was a faithful member of the church where she met a young man by the name of Lynn Yardley. In June of 1956, Lynn and Frances married and they moved to Borger, Texas, where he went to school. While Lynn attended college, Frances worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.
After graduation, Lynn accepted a job in Tulsa, and the couple then moved to Sapulpa, Oklahoma. At that time, Frances became a full-time homemaker and mother. Frances and Lynn had three daughters. She faithfully attended the Lexington Road Family Church of God of Prophecy in Sapulpa for over 61 years. During that time, she served for many years as a church clerk.
In 1970, Frances and Lynn built a home outside of Mounds, Oklahoma, and raised cattle. Besides church activities, Frances enjoyed gardening and canning, and taking care of her six grandchildren when she had the chance. She was famous for her excellent cooking, baking, and homemade ice cream. Later in life, she enjoyed having lunch in town and shopping with her daughters and close friends.
Frances is preceded in death by her parents, Eddie Gordon and Maude Esther Elizabeth (Fisher) Hardy, her 8 brothers, Eddie Gordon, Jr., Raymond, Jack, Van, Earl, Herbert, Joseph, and Frank, as well as her daughter, Vicky Lynn (Yardley) Roach.
She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Lynn Yardley, two daughters, Karen (Yardley) Barnett and husband Gary, and Ginger (Yardley) Shaw and husband Rusty, six grandchildren, Jacob Barnett (Tiffany), Jordan Barnett (Hannah), Haley Roach, Aidan Roach (Treacy), Emma (Shaw) Tedescucci (Matt), and Anna Shaw, as well as eight great grandchildren, Grady, Nolan, Emerson, Selah, Milani, Ava, Drake, and Levi.
