Obituary of Harold Wayne Blunt

Harold Wayne Blunt was born on May 27^th, 1942, in Collinsville, Oklahoma to parents, Elmo Harold Blunt and Lois Hope Hart. Harold passed away on August 18^th, 2024, at his home in Owasso, Oklahoma at the age of 82.

Harold grew up in Collinsville, Oklahoma where he started delivering milk with his dad at a young age, which would lead to a lifelong commitment of hard work and going after his dreams. He loved playing football, hunting, being outdoors, and most of all, fishing.

He was a machinist for AMPI and worked for Hardestry industries before starting his own business, A&W Heat and Air, in 1982. After many years of dedication to his business and employees, he decided to retire from Heat and Air and pursue his passion to fish. Harold fished some of the most amazing places imaginable including the Amazon River, Old Mexico, and Brazil. After fishing his way around the world, Harold settled on the majestic Kenai River in Alaska. It was during his time on the river that he decided to bring the wonderful taste of Oklahoma BBQ to Alaska. He soon opened up Blackjaxx BBQ which has been voted the best BBQ in Alaska several years in a row. He expanded and opened a second location in Homer, Alaska and kept both businesses going until his passing.

Harold is preceded in death by his parents, sister Karen, Brother Sydney, and previous wives Janie and Peggy.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nicki, brother, Charles, and sisters Linda and Mikki, and several nieces and nephews. His children, Kristie (Steve), of Broken Arrow, Ok, Robert (Angela) of Owasso, Renee (Kenny) of Broken Arrow, Ok, and Dustin & Tracy of Owasso, Ok, Kyle of Sterling, Ak, Kelly of Las Vegas, NV, Keegan of Tulsa, Ok, and many grandchildren & great grandchildren.

Harold was known for his sense of humor, quick wit, big heart, helping and caring for many people. He lived every minute of his life to the fullest and achieved so much while still caring about those around him. A true inspiration to live a big life full of love, happiness, and adventure. He was a huge presence in all of our lives and will be truly missed daily.
