March 13, 1943 – August 23, 2024

Newt Jerald Stephens, a cherished member of the Sapulpa community, passed away on August 23, 2024, at the age of 81 at St. Francis Hospital due to complications of congestive heart disease. Born on March 13, 1943, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Newt’s life was marked by his dedication, passion, and love for his family and interests.

This obituary was dictated by Newt Stephens Sr. himself. 

Newt was the retired owner of NJS Pool Services. Newt previously owned and managed a section of land in Creek County where he raised and sold cattle. Newt lived his entire life in Creek County, where he delighted in attending car shows, crafting dream catchers, collecting Native American art, and traveling with his wife. Newt was an enthusiastic collector of classic cars and a lover of firearms; Newt’s interests were as varied as they were deep.

Newt was preceded in death by his parents, Newt Lester Stephens and Roberta Moss Stephens; his sisters, Shirley Butts and Mary Stephens Martin; and his first wife, Rose Mayo Stephens.

Newt is survived by his brother, Larry Stephens, and his wife, MaryAnne Stephens; his brother, Jerry Stephens; his sister, Claudia Campbell and her husband, Ron Campbell; his sister, Charlotte Clark and her husband, Bill Clark; and his sister, Cherry Little and her husband, Anthony JR Little. Newt is also survived by his wife, Brenda Vincent-Stephens; his stepdaughters, Melissa Casey and Michelle Thomas; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and lifelong friends.
