Obituary of Mary Aldean Parson
Mary Al-Dean “Deanie” Parson was born on November 9th, 1945, to Jim and Mary Cumbey in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. After a few short years, her brother Wayne was born and soon after Johnny and Ronnie were added to the family.
After graduating high school, Deanie attended college in Tahlequah, Oklahoma where she became friends with a young woman named Barbara Parson. Barbara introduced Deanie to her older brother Roy, and history was set in motion. Roy and Deanie were married shortly thereafter in April 1965, and this year celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary.
They were blessed with three beautiful children: Carolyn (Renee), Barbara, and James (Jim). They loved their children dearly and were even more abundantly blessed with nine grandchildren: Justin and Jamie; Mary and Hannah; and Lydia, Jonathan, Timothy, Sarah, and Joseph. And if that weren’t enough, five beautiful great-granddaughters: Mackenzie, Brooklyn, Khloe, Lily, and Kaiya. Their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren are their pride and joy, and spending time with them is the highlight of their lives!
Deanie also gave a good portion of her life working for St. John’s Medical Center in the Regional Medical Lab. She loved working with the doctors, nurses, hospital personnel, and clients, helping in any way she could. It was fitting that she spent her final days being cared for by the medical staff of her beloved St. John’s Medical Center.
Deanie was known for many attributes: her love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her humor, cooking, bingo, and her love for her family. She also had another special love in her life that gave her immense joy and comfort – her dog Bella. Bella was her companion and like another child to Roy and Deanie.
Deanie will be missed by all that knew her. The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, thoughts, calls, texts, and for your presence here today.
