The Life of Lady Doris Jean Noble-Green

On July 7, 1941, in Sapulpa, OK, Doris Jean Noble was born to Ray Doris Noble Sr. and Evelyn Montgomery Noble. She was the second oldest of six children, named in honor of her father's middle name "Doris". She was proceded in death by her three brothers, Ray Doris Jr., and twins Carnell and Darnell, and her sister Johnnie Mae Saundra.

Doris attended Booker T. Washington School first through twelth grade and graduated in 1960. As a youth, she accepted Jesus Christ and was an active member of Flipper Chapel AME Church throughout her childhood.

In 1960, Doris married Shelton Pete Jr., and to this union, five children were born. Her oldest daughter Gayle Baker and her youngest daughter Sherry Pete, both proceded her in death. Doris later married Johnny Adams who passed away in 2002. In 2004, she married Reverend Bobby Green and became First Lady of Flipper Chapel AME Church, where she was reunited with her childhood church. God truly winked his eye to send Doris back to her childhood church as First Lady Doris Green.

Doris retired in 1992 from her role as a department manager at Walmart. Once retired, she enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. Doris loved to needle stitch and made a blanket for each of her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and liked eating good food, especially turkey and dressing, which was her favorite.

On September 2, 2024, Doris was escorted and welcomed into her heavenly home by the Angels of the Lord. She leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories, including her loving husband, Reverend Bobby Green; her children, Karen, Darryl (Sheila) and Reginald Pete; her grandchildren LaShauna (Darrell), Marcus, Diamyne, Jania, Zion, Brooklyn, Kyra, Kaelan, Marcel, Jasmin, Sydney, Shomer and Mattew. She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren, her sister, Reverend Patricia Jones of Tulsa, OK; an uncle, Bishop Joe Nobles (Joetta), of Oakland, CA; two sisters-in-law, Hattie Noble of Dallas, TX and Roberta Broom of Sapulpa, OK and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.

Our wife, mother, grandmother, sister, niece, aunt, cousin, and friend will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her. Rest in Heaven Doris! We miss you and we love you!
