Karl William Hartke Jr.
January 26, 1957 – August 31, 2024
Karl passed peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by friends and loved ones with his dog by his side.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Karl and Norma, and his brothers, Bill and Randy. Karl leaves behind his loving wife, Donna. He also leaves behind his son Adam, and Adam’s children, Maryjane and Alice. He leaves behind his daughter Tina, and son-in-law, Matt, and their daughter Charlotte.
He served his country in the USAF, enlisting immediately after high school, where he met the love of his life, Donna. Karl and Donna were married nearly 47 years, raising 2 children and welcoming 3 grandchildren into the world.
After leaving the Air Force, Karl continued serving his community as a police officer until retiring as a Sergeant from Catoosa in 2016. Everyone who met him immediately knew that he was a man who took great pride in his work and his family.
Karl Was a man with many stories to tell. Everyone was welcome with him and treated as family. His children's friends all called him “Dad”. He was honest to a fault, tenaciously loyal, and had the biggest heart under the gruffest exterior.
He is deeply loved and his loss leaves a hole that can't be filled.
Being the man that he was, Karl requested that no memorial be held, and instead would like a wake held in his honor at a later time. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local Fraternal Order of Police in his name.
