Ronald Eugene Ashford obituary

Ronald Eugene Ashford of Twin Hills, OK passed from this world to his new life in Heaven on September 8th, 2024. He was born in Sapulpa, OK on October 31, 1954 to parents James and Margie Ashford. Ronnie attended Kiefer Public Schools for all 13 years graduating in 1973. He married his neighborhood playmate and high school sweetheart Karen Adams on January 6, 1974 while recently celebrating 50 years of marriage. Blessings soon followed with three beautiful and talented children, Wesley, Kendra and Kara. They then gained what they consider another daughter and son as Jennifer Ashford and Darrel Smith married into the family. They were later blessed with six grandchildren, Kayla, Trey, Skylar, Kammie, Daxton and Adelina.

Ronnie worked hard from an early age coming from a large family and wanted to help them in any way possible. He began mowing lawns along with starting a trash service using his father’s work truck in Jr. High school. He also worked for his Aunt Della cleaning and picking up supplies for her local Café in Kiefer.

After graduation and into marriage Ronnie worked for various companies including Tub Fab, Oklahoma fixture company, Johnny Carr grading a bulldozing and Jim Genser. In his late 20’s he mustered the courage to venture out and start his own Trenching Company. Soon thereafter he became the owner and operator of his first Oil and Gas lease south of Beggs, OK. From this Oil lease he formed and grew two oil industry related companies, both Prosperous and Covenant Oil and Gas which he had owned and operated for the last 44 years.

Ronnie was a retired member of the Kiefer fire Department and loved to play men’s softball with his brothers on various softball teams. He was a constant jokester, story teller and relentless prankster as most will no doubt remember. He loved his family and always did his best to brighten people’s day in any and all situations. He was a faithful member of World outreach church in Tulsa and had a very strong faith in his lord and savior Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his wife Karen Ashford of Twin Hills. His children, son, Wesley and Jennifer Ashford, of Kiefer, daughter, Kendra and Darrel Smith of Sapulpa and daughter Kara Ashford of Glenpool, his grandchildren Kayla Ashford, Trey Ashford, Skylar Smith, Kammie Smith, Daxton Smith and Adelina Gonzales. Sister in laws and Brother in laws Jan Ashford, Hayden Howell and Leann and John Wimmer. Many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents James and Margie Ashford, sisters Debbie Howell and Brenda Jamison, Brothers Donnie Ashford and Rickie Ashford along with his in-laws Archie and Dorothy Adams.
