Obituary of David Aaron Gibbs

Please share a memory of David to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

David Aaron Gibbs (Dillingham), 29, passed away on Tuesday, October 1st, 2024. David was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on December 10th, 1994, to Lucy (Jyme) Walker and Jack Dillingham III.  In the years to come, his Uncle Bubby would play a huge fatherly role in David’s life. He was raised in Sapulpa, Oklahoma and eventually moved to Glenpool, where he was an active participant in the Special Olympics before he graduated high school in 2014.  He would then go on to attend some classes at TCC Tulsa.

David truly lived his life to the fullest. To know David was to love him. When he laughed, it was impossible not to smile with him. His playful sense of humor brought joy to everyone around him.  He had a heart and aura that beamed so bright that you couldn’t help but fall in love with him.  David was often seen rooting for his favorite sports team (OU, obviously), but he loved watching all sports, playing video games, and spending time with his siblings and family.

Throughout his life, he fought many battles courageously with God by his side and it never wavered his faith. We all benefited from David’s existence in more ways than we will ever know. He was born to stand out and inspire everyone to be the best versions of themselves, to love with no limits, and to show everyone grace, understanding and unconditional love. He knew no enemy and held no grudges.  He had the purest heart with the greatest of intentions, always.

He is survived by his parents Lucy & Jimmy Walker of Owasso, his biological father Jack Dillingham of Texas, his siblings Skyler & Fiancé Ashleigh, Aaron, Christian, Rosie, Graycie, Chloe, Addy and Bryce, his Maternal grandparents Sandra Gibbs & Terry Hankes, his paternal grandparents Becky & Kermit Perridon of Tulsa, paternal grandfather Jack Dillingham of Texas, his aunts Jerri Campbell & husband Cody Campbell of Owasso, Jennia Gibbs of Tulsa, Jamie Galovich of California and Jessica Skeen of Tulsa, his uncle James (Bubby) Gibbs and his wife Krystal Gibbs of Tulsa and Gary Hold of Tulsa his immediate cousins Paige Campbell, Kayleigh & husband Josh, CJ, Amaya, Isaiah, Ameerah & Zyleigh, plus a ton of other family members who will continue to live on in his legacy.  He has now joined his Grandpa Gibbs, Great Grandmother Gibbs and his dog Mister in Heaven.  David will be deeply missed but never forgotten and although he will be greatly missed, we will never forget the happiness he brought to us all.  We love you David and will see you again!
