Obituary of Camille Yvonne Cox

Please share a memory of Camille to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Camille Yvonne Cox, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-great grandmother and sister met Jesus to follow Him to her new home with her family and friends on October 13, 2024, at the age of 95.

Camille was born on September 30, 1929, in Amarillo, Texas to parents Harry and Luda Zimmerly. Camille and her four siblings grew up in the Widows Colony in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. Sand Springs was her lifelong home, except for her brief time in Texas. She graduated from Sand Springs Schools in 1948, and later met and married Gene Cox the same year. They had two children, Jeanette and Bobby. Camille was not only a mother, but a housewife. In 1984, Gene and Camille got divorced and went their separate ways.

She then became a Nursing Home Assistant and Caregiver, and she enjoyed traveling to visit family. She frequented Florida, Colorado, and Texas to visit her daughter Jeanette, son-in-law Lyle and her grandchildren Jacy, Paige and Kyle Osburn. She also loved her time spent with her other grandchildren, Amanda and Kevin Cox, who are her son Bobby and Diana’s children. Later, her excitement expanded when her granddaughter Jacy had Wyatt Osburn and Page had Aubrie and Sadie, her great grandchildren. Camille also had many nieces and nephews.

Camille is survived by her son Bobby and his wife Diana Cox, grandchildren Amanda, Kevin and Kyle, Jacy and her husband Dustin, Page and husband Reagon, great grandchildren Wyatt, Aubrie and Sadie.

She is preceded in death by her parents Harry and Luda Zimmerly, siblings Norine Scearce and husband Richard, Evelyn Williams and husband Scott, Ruth Crosser and Jack Zimmerly, and daughter Jeanette Osburn.
