Obituary of Gary Wayne Dowler

Gary Wayne Dowler was born on November 13, 1945, in Enid, Oklahoma to parents LeRoy and Anna Mae (Grim) Dowler. He passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at his home in Kiefer at the age of 78.

Gary joined the U.S. Army in March of 1966 and served in the Vietnam War for two and a half years.

He had a love for horses, dogs, ice cream cones, family and his T.V. shows until he fell asleep.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents LeRoy and Anna Mae Dowler, brothers Robert and Gene Dowler, and granddaughter Krista Stephens.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Marilyn “Jeanne” Dowler of the home in Kiefer, daughter Sherry (Ted) Lawson of Sayre, son Ron Dowler of Sayre, daughter Angela Sims of Pampa, daughter Jessica (Rodger) Benedict of Sapulpa, son George “Tubba” (Anna) Wesley of Tulsa, son Cary (Lisa) Rice of the home in Kiefer, son Brian (Kathy) Rice of Glenpool, grandson Brody (Shelby) Rice also of the home, 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
