Obituary of Judy McAnulty

Please share a memory of Judy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Judith Kay Binns McAnulty, known to her friends as “Judy” and her family as “JuJu”, from Kellyville, OK passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, October 21, 2024.  She was 85 years old.

Known for her beautiful smile, contagious laugh and loving personality, Judy was cherished by her family and many friends. She never shied away from helping others and always saw the best in people. She was a lady of class and integrity, devoted to the Lord and fiercely loyal and protective of her people.

Born on August 12, 1939, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, to James Oscar Binns and Alma Coleman Binns.  Judy graduated from Kellyville High School and was the Salutatorian of the Class of 1957.  She later attended Oklahoma State University.

In August 1958, Judy married Edward Glen “Bill” McAnulty at the First Baptist Church of Kellyville, where they became lifelong members. After their wedding, the couple moved to Wichita, Kansas, where Judy continued her education at Wichita State University while Bill was stationed at McConnell Air Force Base.

The couple moved to Tulsa in 1960 and started their family. They were blessed with a daughter Andra Kay in 1960, an infant son Jonathan Garth in 1963 and their third child, a daughter Jami Lynn in 1970.  They then returned to their hometown of Kellyville. Judy and Bill were married 60 years before his passing in July of 2019.

Judy had a diverse and interesting career beginning in the early 1960’s working for steel company Jorgensen Steel in Tulsa.  She then joined the offshore drilling company Reading & Bates in Tulsa.  She later worked at the fabrication company Madison Inc. in Tulsa and lastly at Dowell Schlumberger in Kellyville.

She was planning to retire but was recruited to Terry Gartside Realtors by a close family friend. Judy enjoyed obtaining her real estate license and making families’ dreams come true by finding their perfect home.

Judy delighted in antique shopping and treasure hunting at estate sales, garage sales and an occasional flea market. She was an independent spirit who took pride in her personal appearance, always supporting a full face of makeup and decked out in high heels until she was almost 80 years old.  She loved her church family at Kellyville First Baptist, especially her Sunday school class.  Above all, Judy loved spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow.

Judy is preceded in death by her husband Edward Glen “Bill” McAnulty, her parents James Oscar Binns and Alma Coleman Binns,  son Jonathan Garth, her in-laws John Harrison McAnulty and Lillian Beatrice Curdy, her two brothers Charles Lee (Chuck) Binns and his wife Odell, James Oscar (J.O.)
