Raymond Mickel Conners Obituary

Ray Mickle Conners, 98, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2024. Ray was born on March 29, 1926, in Moline, Kansas. A proud veteran, he served in the United States Navy during World War II, working aboard a naval medical ship, where he was known for his skill in "turning seawater into freshwater." After his service, Ray graduated from Oklahoma State University with an associate’s degree in HVAC and went on to pursue a successful career as an entrepreneur, owning and operating several businesses throughout his life.


 


Ray had a deep passion for technology and was an avid computer enthusiast, always excited by the latest advancements. He loved traveling with his beloved wife, Maxine, with whom he shared 73 wonderful years of marriage. A devout Catholic, Ray was dedicated to his faith, family, and community.


 


He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph M. Conners and Gertrude Brogan; siblings Carl Conners and Josephine Conners; and son-in-law Larry Landsverk. Ray is survived by his loving wife, Maxine Conners; sister, Connie Conners; children, Larry Conners and Kathy Landsverk; grandchildren, Jerry and Karry Ward, Kevin Landsverk, Jason and Kyla Townsend, and Kenda Landsverk; and great-grandchildren, Tenley Townsend and Jackson Townsend.


 


A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 15, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1777 East Grayson Ave, Sapulpa, OK, with graveside services to follow at Green Hill Cemetery, 400 East Teel Road, Sapulpa, OK. A viewing for family and friends will be held on Thursday, November 14, from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at Green Hill Funeral Home, also at 400 East Teel Road, Sapulpa, OK.


 


In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Clarehouse or St. Jude Children’s Hospital, causes that held special significance to Ray.
