Obituary of Joyce Webster Anglen

Please share a memory of Joyce to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce Anglen on November 18, 2024, at her home in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.  Joyce was 88 years old, born May 7, 1936, in Sapulpa to Loyd and Cora (Nichols) Webster.

Joyce graduated from Kellyville High School.  After graduating, she met the love of her life, Jerry Anglen, in Sapulpa.  Love was sweet and they married on July 5, 1955, a marriage that lasted 50 years.  Joyce was known for her beautiful smile, easy laughter, strong will, self-determination, love and support for her family, community and church.   While living in Bakersfield, CA, Joyce was a faithful member at Vessels of Honor Church.  When the family returned to Sapulpa, Joyce volunteered at CASA and was an advocate for at risk children and youth and was a devout member of the First Baptist Church of Sapulpa.

Joyce was always happy working.  Particular places she loved were at Liberty Glass Company, working as Secretary to the President, Accounting and her training in computers to be instrumental in implementation of data processing.  She moved to Bakersfield, CA, in 1975 and was Office Manager for San Joaquin Supply Company.  She found her true passion as Co-Owner with best friend Claudine Tsitakis of a tall women’s dress shop.

Quite the adventurous spirit, Joyce spent many hours traveling with Jerry on the big 18-Wheeler driving coast to coast.  One of her many talents and joys was gifting homemade jellies to friends, family, nurses, doctors and health care workers.  She was known as the “Jelly Lady”.

Preceded in joining the Lord: Husband – Jerry Anglen, father and mother – Loyd and Cora Webster and brother – Gary Lee Webster.

Survived by sons: Loyd Eugene Anglen and wife Shirely, Bakersfield CA, Michael Dwayne Anglen, Sapulpa, OK, sister Virginia Shields, Kellyville, daughter by love Amanda Gomez and granddaughter Eliza, CA, loving nieces, great niece, grandchildren and extended family ranging from California to Florida and in between.
