Obituary of Judy Hallford
Judy Ann Jones Hallford, born on November 28, 1941, in Okema, Oklahoma, to Elsie Grider Jones and Bethel Jones, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024, at home surrounded by her family just days shy of her 83rd birthday. Judy's life was a testament to love, family, and faith, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She graduated in 1959 from Bearden High School, in Bearden, OK. Judy attended and graduated from East Central College in Ada, OK, with a teaching degree in 1964. She met John Wayne Hallford in 1964 at Piping Engineering Company, where they both worked. They were married on March 2, 1968 in Galveston, TX.
Judy was a woman of deep faith, whose life was marked by her commitment to family and her community. She had a very close bond with her three brothers, Alan, Richard, and John D. She was a devoted wife to John Wayne Hallford for 56 years, and they stood by each other’s side through life’s many seasons. While she had no biological children, she raised her cousin’s child, Michael Francis, as her own and was a great caregiver. She was involved in many churches throughout her life and would gladly volunteer her time. She sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and was also the church secretary. She enjoyed going fishing, she loved to cook, and she never complained about anything. She truly enjoyed life!
Judy is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, John Hallford, who stood by her side through life's many seasons. She leaves behind a loving family, including her son, Michael Francis, and her cherished granddaughter, Alycia Franco. Judy's legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Amariana and Greyson Franco, who brought immense joy to her later years. She is also survived by her stepdaughter, Anna McDonald, stepson, John Hallford, and sister-in-law, Peggy Barnes.
Judy was predeceased by her parents and her brothers, Allen, Richard, and John D. Jones, with whom she shared a close bond throughout her life.
A woman of deep faith, Judy's life was marked by her commitment to her family and her community, being involved in many churches throughout her life. Her warmth and kindness touched the lives of many, and her memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
