Billy Ray Matney

 December 26, 1942 – January 11, 2025

Billy Ray Matney, a hardworking, devoted family man, and friend to many, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on December 26, 1942, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Billy spent his life surrounded by love and the community he cherished.

Billy worked for many years as a Roll Deck Operator at Madison Inc. and at the Liberty Glass Plant, where he was known for his dedication and

strong work ethic. Outside of work, Billy found joy in simple pleasures: fishing, collecting treasures, watching westerns, and spending time with the many "youngin's" who adored him. Though a man of few words, Billy

expressed his love through actions, always willing to lend a helping hand.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Jay Matney and Anna

Francis Lorene Matney (York); his brothers Bobby Jay, Jerry Wayne,

Tommy Louis, James Floyd, and Jimmy Lee; his sister Wanda Norma Lee Matney; and his grandson, Austin Ray Matney.

He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 63 years, Rosa Matney; his sons Billy Gene Matney, Danny Matney, and James Matney (wife TJ), all of Sapulpa; his grandchildren Chelsea Blankenship (husband Brandon),

Faith Matney, Billy Caelan Rhys Matney (wife Amanda), Madison Matney,

Spencer and Dezmond Matney; and his great-grandchildren Elora,

Elowen, Ronan Matney, and Autumn and Ivy Kramer. Billy is also

survived by his brother Buddy Lee Franklin, his sister-in-law Teenie

Matney, Brother-in-law Paul McGinnis and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Billy will be remembered for his unwavering love, quiet strength, and the many lives he touched through his kindness and generosity. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
