Obituary of Nancy Morris

Nancy Ellen Morris, loving wife, mother and grandmother, entered Heaven's gates with singing on March 12, 2011. She was born on September 25, 1939 in Ft. Dodge Iowa to Eileen and Albert Minson. Although Nancy began life in Fort Dodge, Iowa, life's circumstances brought her to Shulter, Oklahoma and a new beginning with a new family. Nancy's childhood was blessed with two mother's as she was adopted by Elizabeth Hunter (Mama Liz) and Cornbread Hunter at the age of eight. Nancy's dramatic childhood and two mother's shaped her life and gave her a tenacious desire to love not only her four children and ten grandchildren, but foster children. She also served as an advocate and president for the Association for Children with Learning Disabilities. Her example inspired her own daughter to adopt a child from Kazakhstan and a teen from Ukraine. Nancy lived these words from God; greater love has no man, but that he lay down his life for his friends. She truly knew no strangers. Nancy lived and inspired others through her endless curiosity, artistic abilities, and tenacious spirit. She created and leaves a legacy of beautiful quilts, watercolor flowers, country bears, loving hugs, volumes of genealogy which prove we have family everywhere. Her greatest legacy is the love she nurtured and inspired in her husband, children, grandchildren, and all who knew her. Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Wesley: her four children, Jim Morris and Rebecca of Derby Kansas; Amy Ward and Rocky of Welling, Oklahoma; Leslie Millsap and Bryan of Beaumont, Texas and Lonnie Morris and Dawn Bixby, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren.
