I was saddened to learn today of Austin's passing. Please forgive me for not contacting Austin since Luke Thompson's funeral. Austin and Ronnie Cassell and I shared some time together at a little restaurant in Wetumka after Luke's funeral. I lived two doors from Austin during our high school days. We sometimes road the 9 miles to school together. He was a good person and always was a friend to those he claimed as friends. I know he was my friend and feel that he knew I was his friend too. We participated in many track meets. He was quite the high jumper....especially during those years without foam landing pits. He landed in a pit made of sawdust and STILL eclipsed 6' on many occasions. Please accept my heartfelt thoughts and prayers for the family, especially wife, children and grand children. May God's presence be with you all. harvey
