We met Gene about 28 years ago (I worked for Alloy and Lewis' company worked with Alloy). He was the purchasing agent for Alloy and a darn good one too. There was always a telephone receiver stuck to his ear it seemed like...and there was never a dull moment when Gene was around-he was so funny and quick! Sometimes he'd crack a joke and you might not get it until about 2 minutes later...then he'd give you that lopsided grin and his eyes would just twinkle! He could remember all these sports statistics and general trivia - he always said he could remember that stuff but couldn't remember what he had for lunch yesterday...we went thru computer crashes and upgrades (groan!), "Bubba" customers, the yearly "Alloy Open House" (oh my, my, my), the guys and their "shakedown cruise" before the Alloy summer picnic (wives could & sometimes did get angry), Christmas parties and lots of other good times. One of the "Gene-isims" I remember him saying was "she's as pretty as a speckled pup", not sure why that's stuck in my brain all these years. Gene was a classic and a good friend, I know he will be missed by everyone that was lucky enough to know him while he walked the Earth. We'll see you again old friend someday when we pass thru the Pearly Gates into Heaven...our hearts go out to the family. May God give you peace during this difficult time in your lives. Aunt Betty, I know the Lord will direct you through today and future days to come. One of my favorite verses is Proverbs 3:5 & 6. I love you.

Betty and family, May the Lord grant you His peace that passes our human understanding and make you aware of His loving arms as they are wrapped around you during this time. We grieve our loss as we rejoice in Gene's infinite gain. Please know that Jesus loves you and Gene is with Him now.
