Obituary of Bernice Darlene Kreider
Bernice Darlene “Granny Bea” Kreider (Age 77yrs).
“Granny Bea” died Thursday, August 20, 2015, in Broken Arrow, OK.
She is survived by her husband Cleon Kreider, their children and spouses Bobby & Malinda Graham, Michael & Lisa Urdak, Beth Barnett, Susan & Weldon Ward, Virginia Thomas, and Colleen Abby.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jess and Bulah Poplin, daughter Carolyn Wiles, and granddaughter Jessica Barnett.
“Granny Bea” was born June 3, 1938 in Tulsa, OK to Jess & Bulah Poplin. She was a loving sister to Helen, Jean, Doris, Wanda and James. She worked as a seamstress at River Spirit Casino, where she took it upon herself to ensure her co-workers never had a loose button, busted zipper, or a frayed hem. She entertained countless friends with her legendary Home Interiors parties, and delighted in any opportunity to bless her friends and family. Bea was a proud member of Sunrise Baptist Church of Kellyville, OK and would never miss an opportunity to sing, especially her favorite hymn “Nearer, My God, to Thee”. She was married to Cleon Kreider for 35 years, and together they cultivated their love of gardening, bluegrass music, and raising their chickens (which, of course all had names!). She passed along her firecracker spirit and orneriness to her 17 grandchildren and multiple precious great-grandchildren, and fueled their love for her famous cheese danish and zucchini casserole. Bea Kreider cherished her family and relished in the fact that she will forever be “Granny Bea.”
Her life will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 10:00am at Green Hill Funeral Home located at 400 East Teel Rd, Sapulpa, OK 74066. Visitations will be held on Sunday, August 23 from 3-6pm and Monday, August 24 from 9am-9pm at Green Hill Funeral Home.
The family requests that you share your favorite memory of “Granny Bea” on her web page under the condolences tab.
