Melvin and I were classmates for many years. I knew he was a wise person even at a young age. He had an abundance of character and you could count on him to tell it like it is. He will be missed.
I remember SFC Ranney very well. I was his Company Commander in Sapulpa from about July, 1975, until about April, 1979. He was a caring leader who really looked out for his soldiers. You can be very proud of his service.
