Obituary of James L Rankin

James Leon Rankin was born on February 26, 1943 to James Rudolph and Ethel May Rankin. He went to be with The Lord on November 14, 2015, at the age of 72. He was born in Sapulpa, and attended Sapulpa High School. He then joined the United States Army, and served in the Vietnam War. He married Linda Henson in 1976, and together they raised five children, and helped raise several grandchildren. They enjoyed going to the lake, and attending any sporting or musical events that their grandchildren were involved. Jim loved spending time with his family. He loved playing cards, and spent a lot of time taking care of Nan's garden and beautiful yard. He was a Godly man, and faithfully attended North Heights Church in Sapulpa, OK, pastored by Ronny Hardage. He has provided a legacy for his children and grandchildren, setting the example of love that Jesus taught us. He is preceded in death by his parents James and Ethel, and also his sister Wanda. He is survived by his wife, Linda Rankin, his children Randy Rankin and wife Lori, Sandra Rankin, Shelly Simpson, Karen DeArmond, and Shaun Rankin and wife Jennifer, all of Sapulpa. His grandchildren Steven Rankin, Stephanie Rankin, Hannah Doshier, Faith Doshier, Hope Doshier, Tyler Dubuc, Shaun Dubuc, Seth Simpson, Jayden Simpson, Kayelee DeArmond, Ian DeArmond, Zac Boyd, Thomas Rankin, Ace Eddingfield, Joshua Barnett, Harlie Henson, Jessie Henson, many more nieces and nephews, and hundreds more family and friends. Funeral Services are at 10:30 a.m. at North Heights Church Tuesday, November 17, 2015.
