Obituary of Dr. Charles Allen Aldrich

Dr. Charles Allen (Chuck) Aldrich, 81, of Sapulpa, OK passed away on December 4, 2015 at Southern Plains Alzheimer’s Special Care Center in Tulsa, OK. Chuck was born in Danbury, Nebraska to Leslie Vincent and Marjorie Effie Allen Aldrich on May 10, 1934. He attended school in Woodston, Denmark, Great Bend and Pawnee Rock before graduating from Hoisington High School in Kansas in May 1951. He received his Bachelor of Arts, Physics and Mathematics form Kansas State Teacher’s College on May 23, 1959 and his Master of Science-Physical Science on August 26, 1960 from Kansas State Teacher’s College in Emporia, Kansas. In 1965 he received his Doctorate in Mining-Engineering from Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy in Rolla, MO. He worked for Cities Service Oil Co and Occidental Petroleum until taking early retirement. In retirement, he taught advanced math and science classes for Tulsa Public Schools and Tulsa Community College. He enjoyed family, golfing, dog races, painting and sports. Chuck is survived by his children; Katherine Aldrich Chambers of Tulsa, OK; Russell Aldrich of Tulsa, OK; Christopher Aldrich (Michelle) of Tulsa, OK; Julie Aldrich Furlong (Scott) of Bixby, OK; and Dr. Timothy Aldrich (Belinda) of Sapulpa, OK; his loving partner and caregiver, Krystyna Hatfield; sisters Barbara Osbourne (Claude); Helen Pickert (Jim); and Margaret Ochs (Joe); brother-in-law Bob Vincent (Deanna); 14 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Leslie Aldrich; sister Carolyn Eckert; and the mother of his children, Sharon Vincent Aldrich. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Heart Association. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel.
