Our most sincere condolences to the family, friends, and acquaintences of David. Although we never had the pleasure to meet him personally, we have known his Dad for many years. From the obituary, it sounds like he was a lot like his Dad and a great young man! Although it is a tragic loss, and hearts are breaking, David touched many lives while he was here on earth..that much is very clear and speaks volumes about the kind of kid David was. His photos always show him smiling or having fun. He leaves behind a story and lots of memories to cherish. He will be in the hearts and dreams and thoughts of many people and our family will keep you all in our prayers. May the Lord comfort your souls and provide you with peace and understanding in the days to come. Much love. From the McDonald family. We'll see you at the service!

I never met David, but I live near his family members. Since I'm sure he was made from the same fabric as those I know, he was most definitely a smart, insightful and compassionate young man. My heart goes out to those he left behind and my heart hurts with theirs. I know he's patiently sitting next to our Lord knowing that one day he will be reunited with them. Our only solace is knowing that one day this will transpire, and they WILL be reunited with HIM. You are all in my prayers, May God bless you all.

I was blessed to teach David for 3 years. I loved the fact he was such a book enthusiast!! David was friendly and kind to everyone, he was a reliable and trustworthy student. It was a pleasure to see him mature and grow over those 3 years. I will always remember his infectious smile and always seeing him enjoying time with his friends. I will cherish the conversation I shared with he and Allison just a few weeks ago. I will remember the trip I took with his 7th grade class and the fun we had as group that day. We are so sorry for your loss - our thoughts and prayers are with your family. David was such a wonderful friend to our daughter, Destiny. David was there for her since her first day at Kiefer. Destiny has loved David for a few years now, but just recently our whole family grew to love him. We were recently blessed with a perfect day with him... what started off as just a morning get-together lasted all day because the kids were having so much fun and he was such a joy to be around. David and our girls went pottery painting, made videos, played on the trampoline, played the piano, watched the sunset while eating dinner on the trampoline, and then played glow soccer when it got dark. We will always remember that perfect day. We're so thankful those were just a few of the special moments with David that Destiny has stored in her heart.

David was the most genuine person I have ever known. He brought a smile to my face everyday, no matter how rough it might've been. We shared a love of goofing off, John Green books, twenty one pilots, and doodling on Converse and so much more. I knew him for too little time. Yet, I know he made a huge impact in my life. David was a beacon of light. He and Alison were such special friends, and I always told her what a treasure it was to have a friend such as him. She would tell me about the conversations they would have and the interesting things they would talk about, always since they were elementary students. Ali tells me once when they were in elementary school that David came to school and told her, "Let's talk British all day," And they did. I loved that their relationship was so unique and unlike any friendship she had with anyone else. He means so much to her, and I loved to see them laughing and sharing secrets and candy(they kept a secret stash in my classroom). I know that he will always hold such a special place in her heart. His memory will live on in the ways that he touched the lives of others. His enthusiasm and vitality were infectious, and I am honored to have had the opportunity to know him.

My memory of David Gabriel Charles Claybrook is, when I first entered the first grade nobody ever really noticed me nor tried to ever be nice to me. The only time anybody had ever said "hi" or "hello" was when the principle walked me into Mrs. Dangotts first grade class. And still no one wanted to but had too. I was all alone, walking past the old wooden playground, and heading towards the gated fence to sit and watch the other kids, that were friends, playing together. When suddenly, David came up behind me, knocking me off my feet from shock, helping me up and saying "sorry" and "hi", and for the first time in forever he asked me if i wanted to be his friend. I remember saying,"your lying, so just leave me alone and make fun of me like the others." But instead of saying "okay."and leaving, he shook his head and said, " nope." He had always truly meant "friend" to me and we have always been friends since then.( In this life or another ) David will be and will always be truly missed to everyone. David to some people, David was more than just "David" he was the most valued person and the most loved person in all of Kiefer Public Schools. He was a friend to some... but to me he was more... he was FAMILY.

David was a really good friend to everyone. he was really funny and made everyone laugh. I couldn't imagine what it is like to lose a child or a brother and i am truly sorry for your loss.
I had a birthday party last year it was mainly for me and my family so i invited some friends that i considered family. I invited Jadence, Destiny, Laurah, and David. Everyone showed up excepted for Laurah because she has her nieces birthday party. When David showed up i was so happy because i didn't think he was going to make it. we roller-skated the whole time. When we were skating we were holding hands and he wanted to slingshot me to make me go really fast. We did it slow a couple of times but he wanted to make me go really fast. When he did i almost hit a child that was on the ground so i fell on my butt slowing me down enough so i don't hit the child. After that me and David started laughing so hard he fell to! After we got done eating we were all about to leave but me and David wanted to stay longer but the roller rink was closing so we planned to go next week. We never did and i regret it. i am going to miss David so much but we all know hes in a better place! he was more than just a friend to some of the kids in school, he was family.

David and I sit next to each other and we usually pull our desks together. Anyways, we were doing a dichotomous key on the smart board with little gremlin type things and we got down to the last two. Well David being the person he was, decided to say " OMG, turn them around!!!" because they were both " bent over"/squatting. That was such a good day, I wish I had more with them.

One of my favorite memories of him was when he was Shelby's boyfriend around 4th grade and he wanted to make her feel special on her birthday and he got on justice.com and ordered a swimsuit cover-up, necklace, bracelet and earrings and sent the gift in the mail so she would receive it on her birthday. She was just giddy when she got it!!! One of the funny things about it was, he forgot to select her initial on the earrings and he sent her earrings with "A" on them! She still has them and kept them because her middle name is "Ashlyn!" We are all praying for your family for peace and comfort!
