J.D. carried his name well for he truly was a Good Man! I have been blessed to have known him! He always had to ask about my pick up truck. My favorite story was one time when I came to visit he asked if I wanted in fresh turnips. I hesitated as I was trying to figure if they would last in my truck as I had a long day ahead of me. I did say yes and he went out and came back with three turnips and a smile! I realized he didn't want his turnips to go to waste, just in case I took them out of courtesy ! It makes me smile every time I think of turnips! Love You all, Ronnie

J.D. was what they used to call one of nature's noblemen. He always made you feel welcome. He always had a warm smile and a good story. He always made you feel like the story you were telling him was especially interesting. You could take his word to the bank and you knew you'd be able to depend on him whatever the trouble. They just don't make enough J.D.s any more and I guess they never did.

I would joke with Mary about the fact that her dad was a national treasure. But, I really meant it. Our community was blessed to have such a man among us. When I reflect on Mr. Goodman the word "steady" comes to mind. No matter where I encountered him, at his home staying the night with Mary, at the school, or on his route working for the water department, he was always the very same. He had a gentle way and I will always remember him taking time to hear my story.

Goodman family, JD was definitely one of our favorites! He always made a point to greet us with a smile at family gatherings. I know he's now exchanging stories with Allen!

What an honor it is to carry the family name of men like J.D. As his children and grandchildren it is surely a comfort that you can look back to the days prior to the recent health issues and realize that you are part of something the God began blessing long ago. Now it becomes your turn to live up to the legacy of your family by serving the Savior that your mom and dad served. Our name as family members and Christian becomes more precious as times goes by. I am thankful that all of you belong to such a family. May God's peace and blessings rain down on your family in the days to come.
