Jack B. Sparks, Jr. left this world February 9, 2012 at his home in Mounds. Jack was born May 4, 1947 in Sapulpa to Jack B. and Mary Kathleen (Haywood) Sparks. Jack graduated from Mounds Schools in 1965 and began work with Froug's Department Store. After work with Froug's, Jack worked for many other companies, finishing his career working for the U. S. Post Office. Jack was a deacon at Mounds Christian Church (D of C), served on the Mounds Cemetery Association board of directors, belonged to the I.O.O.F lodge, worked various civic activities such as the turkey shoot and Mounds alumni committee. Jack retired on disability due to the pain associated with post-polio syndrome. Jack was preceded in death by parents Jack and Kathleen Sparks, and brother Gary. Surviving are sister Linda and husband L. O. McNabb, nephews Chris, Steve and Tim McNabb, great nieces and nephews Kyleigh, Connor, Kelsei and ShawnDea. Services are Tuesday, 2 p.m. at Mounds Christian Church.
