Obituary of Betty J Wickham

Betty J. (Verner) Wickham went to be with the Lord July 26, 2018 at the age of 89.  She was born in Hedley, Texas September 7, 1928 to parents Harvey and Abby Verner.

Betty married Hiram Wickham and the couple was blessed with one daughter, Belinda.  Betty worked as a grocery store cashier before retiring.  She loved the Lord and her church family.  She attended First Baptist Church in Sapulpa for more than 20 years.  She was very independent and like to do things her own way.  Betty was kind and she had a big heart.  She was a wonderful hostess.  She was always ready to feed anyone who dropped by. 

Betty loved Christmas and having all the family together.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, attending ball games and other events which her grandchildren participated in.  She loved her daughter Belinda and her husband Jay Wheeler as well as their blended family.  Betty was a loving and faithful woman.  She was faithful to her church and to her family.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Hiram Wickham; parents Harvey and Abby Verner; sister Billy Bulla; and granddaughter Stephanie McGuire.  She leaves behind her daughter Belinda Wheeler and her husband Jay; granddaughters Bobbi Blackford, Kristi Weathers, Jennifer Wheeler and Tara Wheeler; great-grandchildren Kolbe Blackford, Kayli Blackford, Kyanne Weathers, Ryker Weathers, Stormy Weathers, Breanna Weathers, Ashliegh McCause, Walker McCause, Lane Wheeler and Tatum Patterson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Green Hill Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be from 2-8 pm at Green Hill on Tuesday.  The family has entrusted the services to Green Hill Funeral Home.  918-224-2312
