So sorry to hear the news.... 'Uncle' Pete was one of a kind! I worked with him for several years at Star Electric - my first full time job in the electrical supply industry. I learned a few things from Pete during that time and for that I'll always be grateful. I remember after my son was born, Pete would come over to me and slip me a few dollars and say 'Here, go get the boy something'. Being a young father and husband, there were times when money was tight. Having someone do that for you out of the blue.... it's just humbling and was greatly appreciated! He even earned the informal title of Godfather to my son. :-)
I now try to 'pay it forward' when I can and help people when the occasion arises!
There was never a dull moment with Pete around and, though I didn't get to go very often, going fishing with Pete was a one of a kind experience! haha!
He will be missed.... thoughts and prayers for the family. God Bless!

I was 10 years old and my father was in the hospital. I came walking down the hospital hall and Uncle Pete came out of the waiting room. He said "Hey girl, I like those socks!" I had on my silver glitter, "Michael Jackson" socks. I was so proud of those socks! He said lets go get you a drink. He then took me down to get a can of pop. I will never forget that. It is small act of kindness in a child's life when their world is being torn apart, that truly makes an impact that will never be forgotten.
Now that I am grown with children of my own, (my youngest) Chase loved stopping by Uncle Pete and Aunt Carletta's house. It could be either during the annual garage sale or just when we were walking around the block. It never failed Uncle Pete always had candy, (usually a full bag) for him and April.. He always told him to share with his sister.
