Joe Bill

Joseph William “Joe Bill” Lierly (74), entered heaven on Monday, May 13, 2024. He was born in Sapulpa, Oklahoma on November 20, 1949, to Price and Sylvia Lierly.  He is survived by his wife, Kerry Lierly, son and daughter-in-law, Clint and Kristen Lierly, his daughter and son-in-law, Cheyenne and Juan de Dios Castillo, grandson Ethan Castillo and wife Victoria, and grandson Enzo Castillo.  He is also survived by his brothers Jack Lierly, wife Earlene, Roger Lierly, wife Reesa, sisters Alice Worthington, Freida Selsor, husband Bob, and Melinda Meese, husband Gene, and numerous nieces and nephews.  

Joe Bill graduated from Kiefer High School in 1968 where he met the love of his life, Kerry.  He earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1972.  Joe Bill and Kerry were married in 1970 and began their teaching careers in 1972 in Moss, OK.  He taught and coached at Kellyville, Sapulpa, and Kiefer public schools.  He earned his masters degree in Health Sciences from Oklahoma State University.  He had many talents which included operating heavy machinery, leather crafting, taxidermy, and horsemanship. Joe Bill had a passion for horses and loved raising and training them.  His love for family, teaching, coaching, and for the Lord was evident to all around him.
