Obituary of Helen Louise Farwell

Helen Louise Farwell passed away on May 25th, 2024, at the age of 94.  

Helen was born on November 8th, 1929 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas to Lee and Lorean Weeks.  After graduating from Eureka Springs high school she married Paul Eugene Farwell on July 15th, 1949, and their only child Stephen was born in 1951.  They eventually settled in Tulsa, and after many years of successfully owning a heating and air business, they moved back to Eureka Springs in 1982 and spent the next 19 years working their cattle ranch outside of town.  They moved back to Oklahoma in 2001 to be near their family.

Helen was a proud member of the Eureka Springs First Christian Church.  She was an amazing cook, working in several restaurants in Eureka Springs.  She and her sister Dorothy also owned a restaurant in the Eureka Springs area, where customers would drive for miles for their famous homemade pies.  

Above all, she cherished her faith and family.  She looked forward to each holiday which served as an opportunity to bring her family together.  She was a phenomenal gardener who took great pride in her flower beds and vegetable gardens.  Her love of birds was evident through the many bird houses and feeders throughout her gardens and bird decor throughout her home.  

Helen is survived by her son Stephen Farwell and his wife Randi of Owasso, grandson Chris Farwell and his wife Carla of Collinsville, grandson Mike Farwell and his wife Kaley of Skiatook, and great grandchildren Owen, Natalee, Kinsley, and Lincoln.  She is also survived by her sister Carolyn Snodgrass and her husband Tom of Tulsa.  She was preceded in death by Paul Farwell, her husband of 64 years, her parents Lee and Lorean Weeks, and siblings Annabelle Hunter, Anna Lee Ames, Charles Weeks, Dorothy Hull, and Bill Weeks.

She was a strong and faithful woman and her love, wisdom, and character will always have a lasting impact on our lives.
