Nancy was nutty, crazy, funny, loving and friendly. I met Nancy, Ray and Veronica (my first childhood crush)when I was very young (early 70's). There are too many stories to even begin to tell, but all of them are and will continue to be a fond memory. She always treated me like family and I will really miss her.
My deepest sympathy to Veronica and family.

My sincerest sympathy to Nancy's family and friends. Nancy had her own style and I always think of her when I see leopard prints and fancy glasses. She was a fun part of the The Joplin High School Class of '62 experience and continued to be fun to see at Reunions and dinners. I will miss her, but will smile when I remember her.

Fancy Nancy was such a unique lady. I had the privilege of spending my formative years with her, growing up with Veronica. My favorite quality of Nancy is that she never met a stranger. When we would go places I was in awe of 'all' the people she knew and knew her. There are many blessed people to have known her. And I am one of them.

Harry and Veronica, I was so sad and shocked to hear of Nancy's death. I still just can't believe it. I'll always remember her in her leopard outfits and those rhinestone glasses! We just loved it when Nancy came in the beauty shop! She's was always so much fun. Nancy had a huge heart for everyone she met. She will be missed so greatly. I'll be praying for you Harry & Veronica to manage through this time of great sorrow. Sincerely, Linda Sue

Harry, Veronica and family, we were shocked and deeply saddened to hear that we lost our dear friend, Nancy. We have known Nancy since we were children, Dale since the first grade and Vicki since junior high school. We have many wonderful memories of our times together. Dale espcially remembers such a little girl having to carring such a big drum from her house to Irvng school. We will miss her very much. Dale and Vicki

Judy, Veronica, & Harry, I have known Nancy since jr. high school. We called each other Cho Cho. She was truly a unique person. I saw her in the hospital the day after her surgery & she seemed to be doing so well, so I was completely stunned when I heard she had died. We always kept in touch over the years, & we always saw her when she came to Joplin. My husband & I will be at the service Tue. Our prayers are with all of you. We will miss her leopard trademark, & her unique style. Sincerely, Jackie Seanor Ranum

Judy, Harry, Veronica and family _ I was so sad to hear of Nancy's death. Vicky and I had talked to her by phone Aug. 3 and I'm so glad we did. She sounded pretty chipper, given the serious surgery she had just undergone, and had her usual good humor. Nancy was, along with John Secrest, my longest-term friend, having been my next-door neighbor and sometimes tormentor since earliest childhood. To say Nancy was one of a kind doesn't do her justice. She had a great and unquenchable spirit, a sometimes raucous and always entertaining sense of humor and a quest for fair play and honesty and I always admired. I feel sure she has passed these qualities and others on to her family and friends and we can take some solace in that. Our thoughts are with you in this difficult time. _ Terry

Judy, Veronica, Harry - heard from L.R. and Rose about Nancy yesterday. I didn't even know she had surgery so was definitely surprised by their call. I have so many memories of the Mayes family as I was growing up and so many fun memories of Nancy. Sue Lassiter, L.R. and Rose, and I are planning on being there Tuesday to represent the Buehner cousins. We'll see you then. Meanwhile, our prayers are with you all.

I was friends with Nancy all through school from jr high on. I was a bridesmaid in her wedding. I remember when Veronica was singing and I would go with Nancy to watch her. I have not seen Nancy very often in the last few years, but we have kept in touch through high school reunions and dinner when she came to Joplin from time to time. My prayers are with her family at this time.
