I'll sing a song for yesterday
A song you never will
I sing about the good times
and the time we had to kill
I'll sing some of the happy songs
and the one's that made us sad
Sing a song of missing you and the last time that you said
I Love you Dad.
When you were in the hospital w/ pneumonia for 16 days I stayed there the entire time. We played video games while your chest tube was hooked to the wall. That was as fun as the couch was uncomfortable and I'm glad we shared that time. I remember washing your hair and you looked me straight in the eye and said I love you. Not too many 16 year olds say that to their old man. Thank you K-square for your generous heart. I'll ALWAYS MISS YOU-ALWAYS.
I remember the first time that the guitar made sense to you. We were at Spring Creek and you played Rocky Top w/ Robert Armstrong. From then on you made me proud EVERY TIME I HEARD YOU PLAY and SING. The world was robbed when you left us.
Kurtis I am very proud of you and the man you were becoming and I'm broken hearted that I'll not be able to see you have a family of your own.
I cry.
You were a good man and a great friend; any father would be lucky if they had the open lines of communication that we did.
I love you too,
Dad

Kurt, Trish, and kids. It has been many years since our paths have crossed. For that i am sorry my friend. I can only offer the sorrow in my heart for the loss to your whole family. As I cannot even imagine the loss of a child, or brother at such a age when life is just in the launch stage. I do know that Kurtis was blessed by two loving parents. Such a fortunate young man. Kurtis, I know your heart, and your children are your pride, and those wonderful memories you will have the rest of your days. Time seems to pass us in the blink of an eye. I pray the healing, and comforting of hearts to your entire family.

We are sorry we never got to know Kurtis Paul, but we knew his Dad, Kurt (as we called him), during his childhood and through high school graduation. Seems like he should be no older than Kurtis Paul. We are so sorry for your loss. Our heart aches for your family. You will all definitely be in our thoughts and prayers during the weeks and months to come.

Kurtis Paul will be remembered by me for his sweet smile, easy laid back attitude, dark dry humor, his contagious laugh, his funny awkward clumsiness and his ability to laugh at himself. I can't believe I will never see him come thru my front door saying, "Hi Aunt Julie, where's the boys?" I will miss our conversations that were just he and I talking and the closeness that I felt with him when he would share his feelings and fears with me and ask me for advice or the funny way he would antagonize his Uncle Joe, and all of the lost moments of him and the boys together. KP and John-Devin were "crib buddies" and none of the boys have known "life" without
KP. He was more than a friend, more than a cousin - He was a brother. My heart goes out to Kurtis and Tricia- I cannot imagine the grief you are feeling. Max - your big brother loved you and will always be looking over you. Taylor (my TayTay) I Love You, you and KP are both so special to me, keep playing music for your brother - a bit of him will live on within you forever.
Please be praying for all of Kurtis Pauls friends and family - going on without him in their lives and mine will be extremely hard. ...I love you KP, Aunt Julie

Kurtis and Trisha, He was a beautiful child and we loved him very much. God knew he would make a beautiful angel and he is.
